Alpin R. Geist

Welcome Earth Residents!

Alpin (they/them) is a non-binary person living in the North Carolina, U.S.A. They live with four cats, three humans, and a dozen or so freshwater fish. Alpin enjoys writing, reading, painting, and spending time with their family. They are the organizer of the Chapel Hellions, a fiction critique group based in Chapel Hill, N.C., and they deeply love the Chapel Hill Public Library.

Alpin writes about identity, deep friendship, neurodivergence, and found family. From their past as a biomechanical engineer, Alpin carefully constructs worlds where magic, technology, and physiology intertwine in compelling ways. They can rarely resist delving into the strange and beautiful parts of our world and warping these things into elements of fantasy and science fiction.

Alpin is an imperfect, introverted creature. They have several close friendships, and are very close with their father, mother, two brothers, and one sister-in-law, as well as their ever-supportive friends. Al credits their neurodivergence with many of their most entertaining stories, but also struggles with depression and dysphoria in their everyday life.
